The Caribbean was like experiencing a new world and a new way of living.
It’s nothing of what I thought. It was much more than I thought.
God spoke to me in new and more ways than I thought were possible.
And if there is one word that I could say about it…. “Wow”.
The main reason I chose this route was for the diversity of the country regions. 4 continents.
And to be completely honest, the Caribbean wasn’t exactly my top favourite countries I wanted to go to on the race.
However, they changed my perception… very quickly.
The Caribbean was like a dream. Calm and quiet, yet chaotic and busy.
We had our squad month here. And were separated as well.
We all grew a ton.
The Dominican was our first stop. All squad month.
It was difficult. Community can be exhausting after over 30 days of being together constantly.
But it was so beautiful. The mountains were soothing. The clouds coated and covered the mountains, like a blanket.
The ministry was nothing like I would have expected. Tutoring one of the hosts’ daughters was such a privilege.
And the ocean was crystal clear.
Haiti was an adventure alright…
We rode in the back of a pickup truck. (Sometimes a school bus).
We were more isolated, for safety reasons.
But we also were able to be adventurous and see things I wouldn’t have thought would be in Haiti.
The mountains were beautiful, as well as the ocean.
And ministry couldn’t have been anymore diverse. From elderly to children, from disabled to woman’s ministry, and even a little bit of manual labour.
Most importantly, God shaped our race into who we are because of just being in the Caribbean first.
I don’t think I would have it any other way.
Beautiful sharing . At the end of this post , I can say Love is a many splendor thing . Love for the culture, people, sceneries, the squad , the work , and most of all love for God .
