I guess it’s time to change it up as we head into our last 3 months of this crazy race.
Yup, team changes.
It’s been over a week being with my new team, and I love them all already. I’m excited to finish this race with them and be able to learn and pour into each other as we part ways into our lives at home.
We still have to take a “good” team picture, but here are some low quality ones for the time being:
First things first, our team name is “Baby Aslan”. When our amazing squad leaders were introducing new teams, they did it Harry Potter sorting hat style. So we were split into 4 ”houses”, ours was called ”Baby Aslan” instead of “Gryffindor”. We loved the name so much that we just kept it!
Our first meeting as a team consisted of lots of laughter, coffee, sun in the eyes, and various Narnia quotes.
One quote that my friend and teammate Mantha shared at our meeting was: “I am,” said Aslan. “But there I have another name. You must learn to know me by that name. This was the very reason why you were brought to Narnia, that by knowing me here for a little, you may know me better there.” -C.S. Lewis
This resonated with me a lot. Because kind of like Narnia, we’re on the World Race. It’s different than our world back home. We’ve learned and experienced so much about God on this race in the past year, that going back home will be a shock. I think it’s so important for us to make sure we stay strong as a team as we are heading home after this. And as we learn to adjust to life back home and God back at home. I pray we truly “know him better there.” Gosh, that scares me yet excites me so much!
Our vision for this team: “To empower and edify one another as lionesses (haha, get it?) by stepping into new gifts, sharing and teaching the Lord’s passions in us, and resting in the bravery that comes from the Lord when he calls us to the unknown and unsafe for the sake of the Kingdom.“
Our team consists of: Shelby, Alison, Julia, Mantha, Sarah H., and Amy (on the same team since day one of the WR!)
Fun Fact: Our team has all the red heads on it! So cool.
I’m so excited to see how much we grow together these last few months of the race. These women are amazing and I hope to be a blessing to them as much as they are already a blessing to me!
I love your blogs! It is wonderful to hear how God is at work 🙂 and I love the part about the redheads!
WOOO LOVE YOU and I’m so excited to learn more through you!
